About the role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Manager to play a pivotal role in the founding and scaling of a new business line within WeWork India. This is a unique 0-1 role, where you will have an exciting opportunity to build and strategize a new vertical from the ground up, acting as a core member of the founding team.

Your mission will be to own the entire lifecycle of our new service offerings, from initial ideation and market research to a successful launch and post-launch management. As part of this, you will identify and validate services that address the unmet needs of our members, shortlist potential partners, finalize agreements and work with internal teams to onboard them. You will drive go-to-market strategies with the sales & community teams, and track delivery & quality metrics of each partner. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive business plan for this vertical, and help set goals & aspirations for each service offering. 

This role is essential for creating a new, sustainable revenue stream for the company.

Roles and Responsibilities

Market research & data analytics

  • Conduct market research and data analysis to identify existing trends and opportunities for additional revenue streams
  • Create strategic frameworks and guiding principles to define the objective and overall business plan for this new vertical
  • Map key personas and decision-makers in B2B and B2C segments to understand their needs and pain points
  • Benchmark similar offerings from competitors and non-competitors to inform a differentiated strategy

Partnerships sourcing & management

  • Identify, vet, and finalize a comprehensive list of services to be built within the WeWork India services stack

  • Identify and assess potential partners for each service line, evaluating their quality, pricing, and brand fit

  • Independently lead senior-level meetings and discussions with external partners to negotiate commercial terms and finalize contracts

  • Negotiate commercial terms and work with internal teams (Legal, Finance, Procurement) to onboard partners

  • Define and manage service-level agreements (SLAs), escalation protocols, and success KPIs

Go-to-market and performance tracking

  • Work closely with Marketing and Sales to launch campaign for new services, develop go-to-market plan 

  • Train sales and community teams and create essential collateral for new service offerings

  • Collaborate with sales & community teams to promote adoption of new services/ partners 

  • Independently lead senior-level meetings with functional heads of member companies to secure new business and gather feedback

  • Create exhaustive business plan and set service-level sales goals based on member feedback

  • Create systems to track key performance metrics (including uptake, partner performance, and customer satisfaction) with clear dashboards & reports

  • Analyze data to identify underperforming services and determine the root cause, making recommendations for improvement

Education and Desired Qualifications

  • 7-8 years of experience in a business development, partnerships, or strategy role, preferably within a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Proven track record of successfully launching new business lines or products from the 0-1 stage

  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead senior-level meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including partners and business heads of member companies

  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to navigate ambiguity and create structure in a new business

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • A "hustler" mentality with a high level of drive, resourcefulness, and a focus on getting things done

  • Proficiency with data analysis tools to identify trends and inform strategic decisions
