About the role

The Community team is dedicated towards enhancing the member experience, sales performance and operational excellence of our WeWork locations. This team plays a central role in all operations at all locations of WeWork and serves as the “face” of WeWork.

Every employee of this team helps our members and employees create their life’s work through assisting in functions such as hospitality and operations.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Illustrate WeWork’s core values and strive to achieve our mission. 
  • Lead the Community Management team to achieve the following:
  • Creation of a collaborative environment amongst our members through events and personal introductions
  • Maintain goal occupancy by managing renewals, achieving sales goals, and managing churn.
  • Ensuring that building is fully operational and processes are running smoothly
  • Driving growth and promotion of WeWork-provided service offerings
  • Maintaining company standards and expectations
  • Managing building KPIs

Portfolio Management :

  • Make recommendations to the Product team and Head of Community and Operations on any repairs, maintenance or updates required in any of your buildings
  • Analyze tickets & member feedback by portfolio to identify and understand the gaps and work with concerned stakeholders and teams to resolve the same. Set priorities for the CM team using this data and clearly communicate adjustments to the team
  • Produce comprehensive quality control reports that allow all stakeholders to improve the member experience
  • Uphold quality of move-ins and move-outs across all portfolio locations and ensure that the standards are followed across the board
  • Review daily reports and work with the team to finalize monthly reports that outline community and sales progress
  • Supervise building teams in expense management and optimization
  • Handle member escalations and meet with members to resolve issues, process member terminations and other issues of complexity
  • Ensure top notch member experience  across all locations. Oversee monthly member engagement plan and ensure good quality of the member orientation
  • Proactively gather data on members’ business objectives and identify both WeWork and member services that could help members achieve their objectives
  • Recommend best practices, including but not limited to community management, sales, events, training and member experience at a company-wide level
  • Run company-level and territory-level projects, pilots and initiatives associated with  revenue objectives, operations, CSRs, employee & member policy implementation and changes, etc.

Business Development :

  • Take responsibility for sales and community dynamics. Lead monthly P&L meetings with both the teams to ensure a sync up on revenue and sales goals
  • Lead tours for VIPs, i.e. guests of WeWork
  • Engage in the larger community of the market by attending events and networking with local start-ups and organizations
  • Manage and maintain relationships with vendors and landlords

Personnel Management :

  • Manage a team within your portfolio buildings to reach revenue and sales goals, and execute their objectives as an individual and as a team
  • Lead professional development within the team and make recommendations to promote current employees
  • Perform weekly one-on-one meetings to track individual performance and ensure to do regular skip meetings with the on-ground Community teams
  • Work towards creating a dynamic and healthy work environment to ensure good employee experience. Work with the People team to resolve and handle employee issues
  • Oversee and keep the team up to date with process changes
  • Oversee team goals and performance including Performance Management Reviews and Individual Developments Plans

Experience and qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent in business, marketing, hospitality or other related domains
  • 10-12 years of experience in hospitality, marketing, consulting or related experience with strong operational focus
  • Experience in customer service, managing sales and building high visibility brands
  • Experience in project management and business operations
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Cold-outreach experience a plus
  • Understanding and experience managing a team of more than five people
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic and empathy
