About The Role

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for responsibility, design freedom, and the hunger to create amazing spaces and revolutionize the definition of workspace. The role includes designing both standard, custom and managed WeWork locations. We are searching for a Lead Architect who will be front-ending all phases of the design documentation and coordination from programming to design through the bid process and construction administration. In this role, you will be collaborating with engineering, construction, design, logistics, operations and development teams as well as other inter-departmental groups. Externally, you will interface with contracted consultants (MEP, Structural, local Architect of Record, and GC’s)

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, document, and execute multiple simultaneous high-quality projects, by collaborating with all internal and external teams
  • Lead the formation of the conceptual framework for the project
  • Incorporate into projects WeWork standards, goals, and brand ideals
  • Design, coordinate, and document custom spaces and elements when needed
  • Communicate regularly to management and the project team with project updates, for example, of the status of each project, potential issues on site, etc
  • Be able to prioritize tasks as per business needs.
  • Flag any issues that may arise during the entire project, from deal release to opening, take ownership of them, and resolve them with their out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Be responsible for determining and organizing functional requirements, providing programming and space planning, and code analysis
  • Produce all design and hand-off packages for a project utilizing Revit, including programming, layout, AoR hand-off and operations
  • Maintain High documentation standards, both internally and externally by QCing external consultants' deliverables and submissions.
  • Support the Real Estate team in the due diligence process as needed
  • Mentoring the team and ensuring that the desired levels of quality and accuracy are maintained uniformly across team deliverables.

Education and Desired Qualifications

  • B.Arch from a reputed institute
  • 5 - 7 years of professional design experience in high-quality commercial or hospitality projects. Mixed-use residential, cultural, and institutional experiences also will be
  • considered.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding high-quality design
  • Ambitious, out-of-the-box thinker
  • Interest in rule-based design refined over multiple iterations
  • Reliable, focused, and detail-oriented
  • Some demonstrable experience in design documentation in a BIM(Revit) Workflow ●
  • Ability to invoke applicable building, accessibility codes, and zoning in the design scheme
  • Skill in applying building materials and construction details
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude, but open to feedback
  • Highly resourceful problem solver and quick learner
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent organizational and ‘people’ skills
  • Proficient in the following programs: Revit, AutoCAD, all things Google, and Exposure to BIM 360.
  • Some exposure to Rendering and presentation platforms like Lumion, Enscape, and Vray
  • Sketchup will be an added advantage
